Dear Room 20 Families,
Welcome to third grade! My name is Cassandra Carmello, and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. I am new to Laurel Elementary School, but this is my fifth year teaching in the Bay Area.
Each day your child may eat a snack at the beginning of recess, so please send your child to school with a healthy snack. The third grade will be eating their lunch before going to play. Lunches can be placed in the navy blue bin outside our classroom door each day if they are brought from home.
I encourage positive behavior in my classroom as we participate in collaborate opportunities and find ways to challenge ourselves and each other. Your child will set goals for their education this year and brainstorm ways they can reach them through meeting our classroom expectations. I also use a behavior clip chart which is located in the back of the classroom as a way for your child to monitor his or her behavior each day. I will be communicating often with parents, so please check your email and the board outside the classroom.
Parents are always welcome to volunteer in our classroom. If you are interested in volunteering, please let me know.
I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
