Dear Room 20 Families,
Welcome to third grade! My name is Cassandra Carmello, and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. This is my second year at Laurel Elementary School, but my sixth year teaching in the Bay Area.
We have an exciting year planned, and I look forward to telling you more about it at our “Back to School Night” on Tuesday, August 29th.
Each day your child may eat a snack at the beginning of recess, so please send your child to school with a healthy snack. The third grade will be playing first and then eat lunch.
I encourage positive behavior in my classroom as we participate in collaborate opportunities and find ways to challenge ourselves and each other. Your child will set goals for their education this year and brainstorm ways they can reach them through meeting our classroom expectations. I will be communicating often with parents, so please check your email and the board outside the classroom.
Parents are always welcome to volunteer in our classroom. If you are interested in volunteering, there will be a sign-up sheet at “Back to School Night.” You may also indicate how you are able to help by filling out the “Volunteer Opportunities” section of the “Student Information Sheet.”
Please take the time to fill out the materials in this packet and return it as soon as possible. Please make sure to note that the small emergency card has a reverse side to be filled out. I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
