Dear Laurel Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! Whether you are returning to Laurel or joining our community for the first time, we are excited to have you as part of the Laurel family. I hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and meaningful time with loved ones.
At Laurel, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported. Along with strong academic instruction, we believe in developing the whole child by fostering kindness, responsibility, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
This year, we will continue to focus on:
- High expectations for every student, believing that all learners can achieve and grow.
- Strong instruction through best practices for multilingual learners, early literacy, and engaging learning experiences.
- Social-emotional well-being by strengthening relationships and using restorative practices.
- Student leadership by providing opportunities for students to build confidence, develop responsibility, and make a positive impact on our school community.
- School pride by encouraging students to care for our campus, support one another, and contribute to a positive learning environment.
I am proud to be beginning another year at Laurel. With over 23 years in education, including 20 years in the San Mateo-Foster City School District, I remain committed to partnering with our families to ensure every Laurel Eagle has the opportunity to thrive.
