School Site Council

Laurel follows a site-based management model and receives funds from the State (LCAP). The SSC is composed of three parents (elected by Laurel parents/guardians each spring), the principal, two teachers and one staff member. These seven people who represent the Laurel community are involved in making significant decisions to increase school-wide effectiveness and improve student achievement.

The SSC is responsible for reviewing school data, reviewing the Single Plan for Student Achievement, developing and monitoring the LCAP budget and other grants to support the Plan, monitoring the implementation of the Plan during the year and communicating to the Laurel community.

School Site Council Meetings are typically scheduled monthly on a Thursday in the Library. Everyone is welcome to attend but only members are allowed to vote. Guest speakers may be scheduled as needed. No childcare is provided but children are allowed if they can work or read quietly at a nearby table.

The meeting agenda will be posted on the bulletin board outside the Multi-Purpose Room 72 hours prior to each meeting date.

Please see this year's most recent Board Approved  SPSA (School Plan for Student Achievement).
